scoooby slayer Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 im just curious what 4 cylinder cars this was fitted to ? i have just removed a faulty one from the crossflow wondered its origins ? its has a module box with it with about 10 wires in it and still on vac adv on the dizzy ? also there was a wire on the carb than ran from the coil + but it gets hot so ive unplugged it. i dont know what it is, in the pic its the threaded bolt sticking out of the carb on the black cylinder facing towards the rad ?
LEONMEX Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 duraspark box was fitted to mk2 granadas 2.8 2.3,we use them on banger cars as they are easy to wire & take a normal 12volt feed. There are a few different sorts but all will swap with each other
bortaf Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 That terminal on the carb is for leccy choke (runs off the alt) usually again on V6 cortina and granada
bortaf Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 would a 6 cylinder one work on a 4 cly? i guess it just see a signal from the chopper and fires the coil, never tried it TBH
