another mot question

does a 73 car need its chassis plate for an mot? mines been off the car for 3 yrs saw it last night but now its gone walkies with mot booked tomorrow on the brighter side ive had it up and down the yard and it goes like a scalded cat

would think so as how would they get the vin number? or might think its a bit dodgy not having one

cheers posse yes i know it looks wrong but i do have a new one just not got round to getting it stamped yet

depends on the tester as there is no proof the car on the log book is the car on test.

From 'The book' Not sure how up to date this is, but It is unlikely that an old rule will have been changed

 

"A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN or chassis number) is required on all vehicles first used on or after 1 August 1980."

When i took mine in for MOT the otherday it come up as 1st used as 1997 then when they tried again says 1971, but its a 74 M Plate

yeah we did but tester was to busy joffing off over the car to notice he done the details off the last test
