CapperTom Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Hi, I know this topics been covered in chit chat but thought it needs putting here, up to anyone else if they add to this. After looking forward to Classic Ford show for most of the year, the day had a huge dampener put on it by some very poor camping. Myself, brother and our partners all camped on site and there was a group next to us that wanted an all night rave. They had a recovery truck (on-time automotive) which had the floodlight and flashing orange light going most of the night. Along with very loud music and shouting, they then spent Sunday asleep in there cars? This went on to about 4 o'clock in the morning in which time we got no sleep, which made Sunday dissapointing for us as we were so tired and fed up. We felt Santa pod staff/security were useless aswell, after hearing so many complaints that night and security visiting about 4 times why was they not thrown out and were allowed to stay. Im not a party pooper, most of us were there for a beer and a laugh but i think enough is enough. Its a shame as this was my 5th show and the past years have been superb, just hope its sorted for next year. Thanks for reading Tom
ilovegrannys Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 PM sent. Too add to the list: When i parked up children were directing cars to their spaces. Im not saying kids shouldnt be used but they need to show more interest and pay attention to what they have to do. The two kids that directed me wasnt even looking at me, his arms were just effortlessly waving in the direction. Not a big complaint but attention to detail helps. I sympathise with the last post, it is a shame to hear that people ruin others experiences.
Fishtailparka Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 A big reason I didn't go was because of the no sleep camping grounds. Idiots shouting and screaming until 4-5am, then equally daft people think it funny to rev the tits off their cars at 6am. Not for me thanks.
Fiesta Steve Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Why didn't you camp in the quiet family area ??
CapperTom Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 No body told us about the quiet camping. We just got directed straight into the campsite, it was only when we got up in the morning we see the sign for family/quiet camping. By then it was to late.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted June 16, 2010 Admin Report Posted June 16, 2010 I believe it is Santa Pod that are responsible for the camping and the site rules rather than Classic Ford Mag We've done the noisy area for too many years .... over the other side of the pit area (family camping) is much nicer
Arfur Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 You're dead right, Jo, but the Pod still take into account the demands and wishes of the events folk here. There'll be a show debrief here at Future Towers some point after Ford Fair, where the camping and a whole host of other issues will be discussed. Cheers, Simon
Admin Mk2Jo Posted June 16, 2010 Admin Report Posted June 16, 2010 You're dead right, Jo, but the Pod still take into account the demands and wishes of the events folk here. Simon I would like to think they do Simon but this is not the first time that this has been an issue for CF show campers
Arfur Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 I know. We'll get there. Eventually. The site has improved dramatically since this time last year - the loos were absolutely spotless at the start of the show. I almost took off my shoes before I went in...

I almost took off my shoes before I went in... gotta agree with that toilets were spotless all weekend even at about midnight saturday- i was so pleasently suprised i thanked the attendents personally
ugly Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 at 2.30am after being totaly fed up with the racket, the mrs was on one and went looking for security who couldnt be found, but the cleaners were mopping the floor of the toilets. we didnt get to see security till about 7am he was dooing his rounds to make sure everything was ok we moaned about the night to which he replied "they were to aggresive to deal with" we asked why the police were not called if this was the case -he smiled shrugged and walked away
