BIG arches for mk2 escort

I want to arch my escort. I know what i want but cant find a difinitive answer on what they are called. I think they are either tarmac or monte carlo but everywhere i look i see different versions!

 

Basically i want it REALLY LOW and wide, wide 15" wheels, arches must come above the swage line....and is it possible to get this look without tubing and turreting i.e just lowering what you have already as standard (i have adjustable coilovers on the front)

 

Any pictures and comments would help a lot!

monte carlos are wider, and if you want to run big 15s you really need to fit big 15" tubs to avoid clearance issues

the arches on this are tarmac arches + 2" he had them made by a company who's name escapes me (can find out if you want) its tubbed at the rear too and runs 15x12" rears and 15x10" fronts, not the beat pic of the arches but you get the idea (photo courtesy of blackett photography)

mine are fibre glass arches, car is running 15's and is tubbed.

Ive got sideboards on mine

 

Monte's are the biggest but they will take some filling, the wheels on the rally cars look a little "lost" to me in there, you might need some "puff daddies" on to fill 'em

Ok...so if i went for monte carlo or plain tarmac arches with 15's and low slung, I assume i need the 15" tubs as suggested, but would i need a full length atlas axle to bring the rears out? or is it a case of wide wheels on the standard length item?

 

What width wheels would i need to buy in both scenarios? and can i do all this with the standard lowered leaf spring setup? SERIOUSLY looking into doing this now whilst the car is a bare shell...

you will get a 9 inch wheel under there without tubbing aslong as you get the right offset,depends how wide you want to go

Tthanks...are you reffering to the monte carlos or normal tarmac arches?

would this be 9" 13's or 15'S? cheers for the info by the way... I take it this is the rears...will the fronts have to be narrower or do the arches proturude the same front and back?

you can put 9's on the front with the right offset and could again squeeze 10's or even 11's on the arse end with the normal gartrac/prepfab type "monte" arches.neil was running 10's on his forest arched v8tt mk2 escort without issues

you will get 15s or 13s under no probs 9j wide on rear and with right offset 9 on front,but standard fitmaent you can run 8s front 9s rear no worries

Hi mk2mad I see you the other day with the escort. Was quite surprised to see you had the bright red neon Lights under the car , but it looks nice and

different. But I would definatly stay away from the lambo doors idea you was talking about.

These are modded Gartrac monte carlos, with a bit shaves off the rear arch lips.
