No mate, Lukes is nice though! Another of my mates cars just recently made 441bhp @ 1.6 bar with very similar spec but on a set of uprated cams too. It made 415Ib/ft of torque too.

Very good power! Is it a Silvertop or Blacktop? I was always led to believe standard cams couldn't see that kind of power!

Really interested as mine should be going on the dyno soon, but I've got an ST170 head. Going into my Cortina soon!

Mine's a silvertop bottom end mated to an ST170 head. Forged pistons, steel rods, ARPs, Focus RS gasket, custom inlet and GT30.71 internally gated. Want to go external though. Hoping for 450ish.

It's going into a Mk2 mate, just sorting out a T5 and diff! Won't be for a little while yet till I sort that.

thought these suffer from the heads lifting after 500hp

I've never heard of heads lifting. I've heard of cars with over 500bhp on totally standard headbolts.

Most are on ARP stud and nut kit but only for ease when the head is taken off. Not needed though

it was harvey gibbs who mentioned it ,he knows a thing or two

Interesting! As I say, never heard that before and I know of a Zetec Turbo Harvey built that made 570bhp on a ARP stud and nut kit.

I know this may sound a littke odd but how lively is it at the kind of power?

After driving my Pinto powered Cortina last night I'm slightly reconsidering putting 450 bhp through it!

i would imgine "Bloody Lively" would be the answer, my mk2 tina has 140bhp@wheels and i think that can be a bit hooligan at times

XRt-si, It handles the power surprisingly well, dont get me wrong though its not a car you can go screaming into a bend with and sticking your foot down... you will be in the hendge row!!

Also the big 888's on the back help, the car is undrivable without them!! with the yoko's small tyres on the back same as on the front in 5th on the motorway it just about has grip!! Its a waist of time!

The triple 8's also being 205/60's are a huge side wall and give good ratios which also helps out with traction! Mark shead who maps the car said how well the car takes the power, he was supprised it handled it so well! Everyone that goes in the car says how nice a ride it is and how well it sits, I think its due to it still being on leaf springs thats its not quite as harsh...

Its not for the faint hearted.. if you think 140hp is hooligan, I wouldnt put 400hp+ through one

When I know im going out in it for the day i do from time to time feel a bit nervous, but its that that makes sure I cant get bored with it :ykt:

If you chaps ever want a ride to see what its like il be happy to give you a taster at a meet or something..
