  2. Maybe just the wrong clutch?? Only if the plate was the wrong way round normaly it wouldnt even fit? All the clutchs ive ever had if you try and turn the plate around it doesnt even fit inside the cover!

  4. Turnover, I never know when these things are on! Maybe if the cars up to scratch in time for the next one il try my best!
  5. XRt-si, It handles the power surprisingly well, dont get me wrong though its not a car you can go screaming into a bend with and sticking your foot down... you will be in the hendge row!! Also the big 888's on the back help, the car is undrivable without them!! with the yoko's small tyres on the back same as on the front in 5th on the motorway it just about has grip!! Its a waist of time! The triple 8's also being 205/60's are a huge side wall and give good ratios which also helps out with traction! Mark shead who maps the car said how well the car takes the power, he was supprised it handled it so well! Everyone that goes in the car says how nice a ride it is and how well it sits, I think its due to it still being on leaf springs thats its not quite as harsh... Its not for the faint hearted.. if you think 140hp is hooligan, I wouldnt put 400hp+ through one When I know im going out in it for the day i do from time to time feel a bit nervous, but its that that makes sure I cant get bored with it If you chaps ever want a ride to see what its like il be happy to give you a taster at a meet or something..

  7. Ive got an atlas under my mk1 cortina, fostek did mine. Not cheap but the quality of the welds and brackets are superb! They made mine 1 inch shorter than the standard axle to house 7-8j wheels

  9. There's a couple of chaps over 500 and one of them I believe is thinking about long studs but I don't actually think he has a reason too.. He hasn't had a reason too I mean!

  11. Well ian howell has said I wont see serious power gains with different cams but will move the power around.. ideally mine could do with more power up top so maybe cams are next?! silvertop Mk1 cortina?
  12. Well it was in retro a good few months back.. but didnt have power figures and that to boot then! Would be good maybe to get it in classic! Id like to make a few changes before then anyways, change the look of her a bit

  17. Sorry andy I didnt realise what you meant by the rear valance as I havent removed it! We just moved the exhaust cut out We welded a plate in the origional position smoothed it and cut the new one out then matt blacked it

  20. Cheers peeps!! The cars feeling much love Jamie: everywhere the car goes thats all i get,it takes me half an hour to get into our local pub once ive pulled up in the carpark! Everyone wants to come out and look and thats peeps first comment " I used to have one of those or my dad had one of those" Ive been going down the local cruis the last couple of weeks and last thursday once I left I got to a long stretch of road where i found a young lad in a e46 m3 in front of me.. soon as he saw what was sitting behind him hes put pedal to the metal, obviously I followed suit and as I came on boost I shot past him like he was going backwards We got to a set of lights at the end where he wound down his window.. all he had to say was "thats f**king ridiculous" ha ha Love it!! Toby, lol you sorted yours out yet? Havent seen it for a while! Mine scared yours off or something as if!! More boost will not bring warp travel unfortunately but it will bring more torque Gt-lenny: 11.5 at 119mph so far mate, maybe il better it with some better tyres and more boost?!

  22. Cheer for the comment peeps! I'm well chuffed, I didn't think we was going to see those sort of figures untill the boost was cranked up... At least 2 bar anyway!! PETROLHEAD: it's not a ol Cosworth it's a Zetec NICK, lol the big round thing sucks people in off the streets... that's all that does.. Just can't wait for the 2. Something bar of boost to go through it
  23. Well I finally got around to getting the cortina on the dyno yesterday I was very supprised but as you can imagine very pleased with the results!! First we did a power run to see what the car was doing at its 1.7 bar of boost and then went on to cranking in a little more Unfortunately dew to some recent heavy driving the clutch couldnt take any more as youl see in the third graph, i had my suspicions the clutch wouldnt take much more Before i had the first oil pump failure and went over to drysump we reached 2.4 bar whilst out live mapping.. as you can imagine im keep to get another clutch in her and get back on the dyno to see what she can do! Its currently running an ap organic so its done well to do what its been doing! At the fly At the wheels The graph shoots up when the clutch gives up! Not a great run but you get the jist Thanks for looking
