fatboycharlie Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 got a set of gaz coilovers for my mk3 capri fitted them up and the car sits like a truck and they are wound right down i no i can get lower springs for them but i will only have about an 1" befour it hits the bump stops ??????????????????? wot do u think
ox Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 if im right your shoks mount on the axel you could try mk2 escort leaf spring mounts as the shok bolts to them rather than the axel and would give you at bit moor travel hope thiss helps
Fiesta Steve Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Sounds like you've got the wrong coilovers
fatboycharlie Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 wich ones could they b i got them from burtones
Fiesta Steve Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Do they have a part number on them ? Maybe Gaz can advise you better, give them a call
fatboycharlie Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 alloy ones from burtone,s non adjustable type
oliwally Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 alloy ones from burtone,s non adjustable type That will be why, theyre quite a bit taller than standard ones,i'm assuming that theyre the roller bearing type copys. i had some and even with the top hat spacer cut right down my capri sat high
fatboycharlie Posted October 8, 2010 Author Report Posted October 8, 2010 oh right bo u think id b beter off with the standard ones then
oliwally Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 oh right bo u think id b beter off with the standard ones then it may be better,i had avo inserts on 190lb -2" rally design springs with those alloy type roller bearing top mounts, which had a rod end type bearing, had 2 spacers, cut them down as low as you can safely go. mine never sat as low as the std mounts, but had lighter steering. check with gaz and see what they suggest
JP. Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 These and these will give 1"raise on your suspension But what specs are your coilovers. Spring height ( 10 or 12 or 14"long) What Lbs are they rated.. What engine are you running as an OHC wont need 200lbs springs exept if you have short springs
