Does somebody have any info on this.

Have a mk3 1979 X-pack 3.0 Capri and want to know the regulations to race it in the future.

I only found Homologation number 5336, group A & group 1 2994 cc date 01 april 1970. Guess this is mk1 related.

Ill guess cause its an X-pack'd Capri its a group 2 ?????????.

Have triple 40's on top.

3 piece BBS wide wheels.

Princess four pots on front ( as somebody sayed these are alowed in regulations).

Standard drums at the rear.

1976 Anex J didn't make me any wiser also..............

How does it work. How do I read it and where to find more info. Or maby somebody on this forum has the info.

Many thanks.

Hi

FIA 5336 covers all 3.0 Capri's including any revisions like bodyshape etc. upto 1981, it runs to 71 pages, a copy can be downloaded here if you don't already have it.....

The X-pack arches and Triples carbs were not homologated for Group 1, as the production car had 2 chokes any twin choke like the Weber IDA is allowed.

See the link below for current championship regulations like Classic Group 1 etc. in the UK.

Front running Classic Gp1 3.0 Capri's are currently making 305bhp.

I've raced Capri's since 1987 so happy to help with anything your not sure about.

And I want to know how far I am off from regulations.

As I understand I am way off from gp1 regulations so whats it about gp2 then. Does it exist for a Capri 3.0 ??

Just had a read trough the homologations and I figurd it out now ( well I think I did).

Folowing Apendix "J", I have a GP2 car. Whats not described in "J" is suplemented as GP2 in the FIA 5336 like for instance rear disk brakes.

(not allowed according to appendix "J" GP2 but homolagated as GP2 in the FIA 5336).

X-pack is not homologated in GP1 but 5cm wing extensions are alowed in GP2 according to appendix "J".

Engine induction system is also free in GP2 so there's my triple carb setup.

Al I need to know now :

Apendix "J" comes in release dates jumping from 1976 to 1981 and so on.

Which one does count for me, the last one till now or the one thats closed to the year of manufactoring of my Capri ( 1979)

1171 crossed out and 5831 re-written in, group 1

the 5831 ties in with a list i have off the FIA pages

Sorry Bortaf all I can see for 5831 is a Renault 18 Turbo!

JP...The works Cologne RS's were Gp2, semi-works & privateer Mk2's also ran to Gp2 mostly at Spa, like this one....

Rather than converting your car to Gp2, maybe it would be best to see what championships there are runnung in your country and modifying the car to one of these, incase there is nothing for Gp2.

I like the Liqui Moly Zakspeed colour scheme, great looking Capri you've got there.

Ah Spa amazing place, I raced there back in '97, here's a pic of me going through Blanchimont at 150mph on the way down to the Bus Stop Chicane....

Also raced at your local Zandvoort back in '89 before they had to shorten it because a new housing estate was built right next to the track!!!!
