Boredom and the internet . . .

. . . makes you have silly ideas.

I came across this website, http://www.beck-technologies.com/freeplans.html , and i said to myself I can make one of those.

So I did.

This is what I started with. A fire extinguisher, table leg, 20mm tube and some gas.

First up I emptied the extinguisher (messy)

cut the top off and filed out the top to . . .

Accept the table le . . . err exhaust

IMG_0961.jpg

flared the end

IMG_0962.jpg

and did the same for the intake

So this is pretty much all you need

Next onto the putting it together

Cleaned it all up

IMG_0976.jpg

IMG_0977.jpg

welded a nut in the end for the spark plug

IMG_0986.jpg

And ta daaaa

IMG_0979.jpg

Added some tags to mount it

IMG_0988.jpg

And fitted up some steel brake pipe for the fuelling

I took it out into the garden and connected up the ignition module and gas can and tried to get it going. And shit this thing is loud!! I had to give up after a couple of minutes as the new kitten was in the housing shitting itself from the noise this thing makes when trying to start. So hopefully, saturday i'll pop over to my old man's house and get it fired up and running there.

I was hoping it was a waste oil heater you had made as i'm looking for a good design to build a reliable one for the workshop to keep me warm and use all the oil i have collected :lol:

There must be plans on the interweb to build one, surely?

I'm gonna go fire the jet up again shortly. It should look great at night!

u need to mount it on some wheels and see how fast it goes.

I thought about that but I don't think having a white hot piece of metal travelling with no control was such a good idea! lol Would be funny though!

Here's a night vid that i've just done. If you listen carefully you can hear my missus tell me off at the end! lol :lol:

(it might not be processed yet)
