stevepeanut Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 my local shop that sells allsorts has discount fireworks, went in to get some and they had those chinese fire lanterns for £1 each proper cool, open them out, light the bottom and hold it for a minute or two till it wants to lift, let it go and watch it fly up and away across the sky, much better than the fireworks I got
banarama Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 i saw a couple of those ,look like tiny hot air balloons .
stevepeanut Posted November 5, 2010 Author Report Posted November 5, 2010 thats pretty much all they are, a miniture hot airballoon, with something like a BBQ firelighter cube to power it
bortaf Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Your now responsable for a whole raft of UFO sightings
Kieran Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Your now responsable for a whole raft of UFO sightings
285Andy Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 man these are bloody great! we had a couple that were about 2 foot tall. light em up and wait till they get some lift and let em go! ours went on for ages till we couldnt see them coz they were so small in the night sky lol!
stevepeanut Posted November 6, 2010 Author Report Posted November 6, 2010 just been out and bought another 5 of them to set off tonight
Grizzley Dell Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 they are cool but also responsible for dead cows and fires. there gonna ban them soon, or so ive been told.
stevepeanut Posted November 6, 2010 Author Report Posted November 6, 2010 I've heard they can damage farmers fields, but not heard the one about dead cows, I wonder how thats happened *** just googled it, the cows eat the dead balloon and the wire kills them
Grizzley Dell Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 yeah shame realy as they are cool. i let mine go off beachy head in eastbourne with wind going out to sea. bit safer.
Posse Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I thought they were for indoors I thought I was going wrong somewhere
stevepeanut Posted November 6, 2010 Author Report Posted November 6, 2010 you could do them indoors, watch them hit the ceiling and stay there lol
D-FENS Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 he can get his stilts on and reach them
GT_lenny Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 they're really cool and make exellent "tagets" for your fire work displays , I'm sure they could use something instead of wire so's not to harm all them cows or teather them on about 200ft of fishing line so they dont land in the fields in the first place, plus you can see em for longer, maybe even re-fuel them ??
Ken B Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 An Anglia owner had his car wrecked by a firework, when stoopid kids pratting about placed one on the roof. The heat of it buckled the roof, but it also nearly set alight the sound deadning underenath the roof skin. Dunno what firework it was, but he now has some damage to repair. Sooner it all banned and organised displays only the better.
mk3cokebottle Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 you get thousands of the fookers in the air round here over new year because of the ghurka's i think but bout 10 mins after midnight the sky just fills up with them
