sarkie83 Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 as i'm replacing the front suspension on the capri, i've been changing bushes as i've gone along. For the TCA's i went for HD rubber ones, and only ended up using poly for the inners, as I ripped the rubber ones fitting them. the aim of the car is that it will be a well balance road car, rather than a stripped out track day toy... the thing i'm curious about is how rubber compares to poly in terms of noise/vibration transmitted back from the road. i've always though the best mix would be a combination of rubber, and then poly in certain places. i've read a couple of places that have said HD rubber ones are firmer than poly, but better at dampening. annoyingly I couldn't find the actual shore rating for Superflex bushes - they just quote that "they are a mixture to provide the best balance of comfort/handling". Same for HD rubber ones - I don't actually know how firm they are in comparison. when it comes to the anti-roll bar mounts, i was going to use rubber ones..but again, it this one place where it would benefit being as stiff as possible, and use poly?
GT_Jim Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 having driven cars that have been converted to a full set I'd say do the whole lot
