thinking of going to Malta the back end of July to August,anyone know of any good shows or drag events around that time?

keep an eye on the malta room on here mate one of the maltese guys will post the 2011 dates as soon as they're known

 

i think theyre hoping to run a night racing event in august- I'll be searching for flights myself as soon as 2011 dates are announced

whats malta like as a place? anyone been?gonna be a proper holiday,not just for the cars,i know its only a small island but is there enough there to keep u occupied on a 2 week hol for the family?

first time i went was on a family holiday aged 11, - i dont remember getting bored but it was a long time ago, the maltese are fantastic hosts there's lots of historical places to visit you'll also find a waterpark and kids go karting places etc, if beaches are your thing then meilia(s'cuse the spelling) has one of the best(most of the coast in malta doesn't have a beach)

 

it is what you make of it really and depends on what you usually look for in a holiday

I hav'nt been for nearly 15 years which is a shame as most of my family are out there, will make an effort next year, anyone recommend a time for a good show over there?

the drag strip is at hal-far, about a mile from the airport dont really matter where you stay though as the island is only 17miles from end to end so your never far from it

how tempted mansfieldclassicford was to run the mighty kia rio up the strip thankfully it wasn't a RWYB day

especially if you rent a mighty kia rio in champagne like we did, was the fastest car on the island nowt beat us, miss that little bugger.

if it was a rwyb day im sure alex and charlie would have helped us get the rio prepped. ie stripped out de-cat, nos etc, not sure wot avis would say about it tho

you could always "lose " your passport before your return flight, be carefull though as i suggested this to wilsy last november-he got it all wrong though bless him

There are other dates throughout the year ... they normally have a good one in July as well and another in October ... you will have to wait for the dates to be announced which will be sometime in January (ish)

 

They do have RWYB on a Thursday through the year anyway and other shows at Hal-Far. They also have a Valletta Grand Prix through the streets during the year (I think it is in May) that is worth seeing
