BudgieV8 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 To all who follow Brisca F1 Stockcar Racing there is sad news surrounding the sport. The original 'SuperStu' has passed away on December 23 2010. 'The Maestro', 'Wildcat' , 'The '1' and only' (before the cr*p record!)... All names which got me travelling to Hartlepool or Aycliffe (my local tracks then) & nationwide, to watch the car sponsored by Transflash, Hertz, Keith Davids etc Dad took me to Hartlepool @1979 when I was 12 & I became a 'Smithy 391' fan (as opposed to Wainman 212). Stuart brought the sport onwards with technical innovation & development - always looking for a better way to gain speed & results, but developing safety within this - but he was also always the crowd-pleaser with his car design, paint-schemes, driving ability & genuine charm, backed up by his appearance on 'Gears & Tears'. - 497 Feature Final wins plus 3 dead heats, Six World titles, 13 National Points Championships, 3 British Championships and 3 European Championships - gotta respect the man! Genuine true F1 Stockcar driver & Legend! Respect to 'SuperStu' - You are the '1 & only'! Condolences & respects to Andy, Stuart Jnr & the Smith family. The Maestro will always be with us at that last turn going for the line........... Couple of Brisca links: Brisca.com In Memoriam: BriSCA F1 Legend Stuart Smith – The Maestro | F1Stockcars.com
