mk1fez Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 As the title says, bought off ebay and it came today, it is (was) a lovely model! as you can see from the pictures, it's very good where detail is concerned! The engine bay... But i'm not one to keep my models standard.... So about half an hour later.... It looked a little bt like this... A little bit more power! I will update as and when!
mk1fez Posted January 14, 2011 Author Report Posted January 14, 2011 Slight update with this today.... It looked like this last night, only got round to nitromorsing the bonnet and doors.... I then tried some 3 door Cossy rims on it....but i think every widearch Escort deserves some wide minlites, so they shall be staying on it! The 3 door rims could come in handy with my next planned project...a mk3 Escort Then came the serious part..... nitromorsing the body. Brought a tear to my eye in a way... So after about an hour of soaking and washing off, it looked a bit like this(wheels are just resting against it as i had to go out for some things...see next pic for details )... So anyway, I went out, and came back with these.... Plan is - Dark grey body, with red suspension/strutbrace/cage etc... Can anyone guess what the washers were for? Here's a clue... Before... And after... Thats the stance sorted! Time to move onto the body work....but i couldn't resist chucking it together for a rough idea and a picture! The door's aren't secured propperly, because as i said, this was just to get a rough idea for now! And one last picture of how it sits now.... it's coming on good i think! Job for tonight and tomorrow....get the body sanded down ready for primering! Keep checking back for updates!

Got my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain tomorrow, and that it's just slightly warm. As i was raking around in my room, i came across this.. bought a few year ago DIRT cheap, and full of lovely parts to steal! So i stripped that... ...and seen as though i had the wheels off, it'd be rude not to... I dug some stuff out from an old RS500 for the Escort too... ...and tried this...but i dont like it, so it'll not be staying! That's all for now, might have some pictures by tomorrow if the weather stays on my side!

I need your opinions please....orange centrecaps and bolts, or not? and also did a bit of engine bay detailing! still a long way to go yet, but you get the idea
