During the late 60's FF (famous for the 4x4 Jensen Interceptor) converted Mk4 Zodiac's and Mk1 Capri's to run using their legendary 4x4 system... I saw an FF Zodiac in eBay last year and just wondred if any of you good people know more about these motors... All I do know is that the Zodiac's that were made were used by the Police (I don't know what force!) and the Capri (or Capri's, I don't know how many were converted) was rallied at some time by Roger Clark... If anybody knows anything (and has some pictures!) please let us know...

retro ford bought a green left hooker to the brooklands meet was nice to see ,out of the heritaqge collection i think but one scary bit was the sticker on the dash saying that you can start it whilst it is in drive (it was an auto) now that could be a change the pants momenmt

I read that the Capri FF's actually had very slightly different final drive ratio's for the front and back!

I also read that although they had great acceleration on dirt they were awful to drive.

For the Zodiac's I seem to remember a few getting comissioned for trials by the Police either the budget was cut (some things never change eh?) or the advantages of 4wd were deemed not worth the cost because they were twice the price of the equivalent 2wd Zodiac. :(

ford did do one capri for the road but scraped the idea as it wasnt going to be cost effective they produce 17 4x4 capri`s for comp use most were written off cci did have one dont know if they still have it or not i think the 3.0 essex was tuned by westlake and also ran mechanical fuel injection i think they were a 60/40 split 60 being the front wheel drive id have to look it all up to be sure on this 3 were entered in a rallycross event started a fair way back from everything else and finished in 1st 2nd and 3rd winning car driven by sir Roger clark

the z cars were made for the police and 4 were made and also a state trooper car was coverted by ff
