sarkie83 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 you do hear some weird things! Footman james just told me they don't insure BMW's on classic policies for any under 30
qwerty Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I'm starting to get quotes, hoping that the cortina will be on the road this year. 1st one from Adrian Flux is £214 with the mods declared which I thought was most reasonable. I'm going to shop around and see how low I can get it.

Del Boy Posted March 5, 2011 Author Report Posted March 5, 2011 Right I am now insured with Heritage insurance for £201 the year fully comp with agreed value which is not bad as I have 6 points! I tried all the other insurers aswell but this was the best offer. So cheers to all that helped with the info!!!
mattsbmw Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 I've gotta admit i've been finding the same thing on quotes i've got my e30 - classic/limited mileage policies don't work out much cheaper than a standard policy. Lancaster seem to come out lowest from all the ones i've tried. Use that as your starting point then phone them up with the quote, and see what kinda deal they will really give you... When i had an E30 it was cheaper to go on a "normal" policy still cost me £350ish. Now i have the Capri which is much older a classic policy is great, £150 I used footman james so might be worth giving them a shout.
silverstreak Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 performance direct been with them 5 years no probs
Del Boy Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 Yeah, I did mention that I'm insured with Heritage £201 fully comp!
