SebringRS Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Been offered a 1980 Capri 1.6L What sort'a price we thinking lads???
wigglychief Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Depends on the condition but for I bought one with a couple of things left for the mot for 200 about a year ago got it through the not and swapped it for a BMW lol
SebringRS Posted February 15, 2011 Author Report Posted February 15, 2011 Well they guy wants around £2k for it. Its about 10 minutes down the road Will try and get some pics, but from what my dad said, its pretty mint, also has original sales invoice.
wigglychief Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I got all the stuff like that with one of my cortinas, its silly to see how little they cost back then. 4k brand new! with added mudflaps lol
SebringRS Posted February 15, 2011 Author Report Posted February 15, 2011 The added extras with this Capri is...... A Bodie and Doyle sunstrip and a Professionals theme tune horn
wigglychief Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 well that would already be on my drive if it were 10mins away from me! lol... and if i had 2k.. which i dont
Dazzler 666 Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Worth 2k just for the horn!!! lol On a serious note ...2k for a 1.6? In my very inexperienced capri ownership experience that seems a bit steep even if it's 10mins down teh road. Though am sure that experienced ladies & gents on here will advise you much better than me! Cool horn though ... I want one!!!
GJUK Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 It'd have to be a show car for me to pay £2k for it. That won't be worth the same as an escort would in 5 years time either.
PaulMags Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 a friend of mine is selling a 2.0 laser up and running for 600 ono obvious the body needs work but good engine ect if anyone is interested pm me and i'll pass his no on.
baz105e Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 my brother recently sold his mk3 ls 1.6 but fitted with 2.0 pinto, very streight shell, all original 80k on clock, think he got bout 1100 for it
bomber1 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 no more than £1500 but will be slow as fook. wouldnt be any profit to move on imo
caprinerd Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 2k for a 1.6L it would have to be minter than mint for that money
bomber1 Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 2k for a 1.6L it would have to be minter than mint for that money or come with an escort
SebringRS Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 2k for a 1.6L it would have to be minter than mint for that money or come with an escort Talking of that he had a 4 door mk1 also, was on eBay. But was another £2k. That sold the other night for £2.1k
stephens_xpack Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I wouldn't part with mine for less than 4k, and even then I would have to be desperate.
evil knievel Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Wouldn't pay over 1500, even for a minter of a 1.6.
mk2cortinadan Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 its only worth what someones prepared to pay but a £600 capri will need a lot of work if your looking for a good car id say £2000 aint unreasonable ive got a very clean laser see it at £2500 but ill only sell it this summer if someone pays that for it,to ive bought and sold many quality fords over the last 5 years and always got what ive asked for them,if you want a good car its worth paying more
