Burns Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 thought i'd take the direct route home from work today, what a bad idea that was cycling up the road (with lights/helmet etc) and a bloke in a bloody micra turns out of a side street cos he didn't see me in front of him and knocked me onto the pavement on the other side of the road now i know that cyclists used to piss me off when i had a car but that's just a little too far aint it?
atomic punk Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Was he old and blind? tinker lol Hope you didnt brweak anything bud
Burns Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 he was just a *insert expletive of choice*, just cuts and bruises on my hands and face which will heal, and a broken chain (and other bits maybe, can't tell in the dark) which will cost to replace idiot
Wessie Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 i wuda kicked the living shite out of him twat
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Did he stop? I hate it when cars drive past me, then pull over directly in front of me to let a passenger out.
Slik 50 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Tbh mate I drive down a few B roads in the morning on the way to work and without fail there is always someone riding a bike with no lights, helmets or reflective jackets and it p*sses me of because I think its just plain stupid. But if you had lights hemlet ect there is no excuse to be hit by a car. "Claims direct, how may I help you!"
Retromotorsport Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Claims Direct ... my thoughts exactly.. A; i',m now to scared to ride my bike ... emotional stress B; injuries... whiplash as your head bounced of the curb C: repairs to said bike... D; that niggly little pain that you have and havnt told your doctor about, nows the time to get it checked.. You have seen that Vaternans old car is for sale... at £100,000 ..best you get on the phone and then to your doctor or walk in medical center, bruises and abrasions listed..etc .. And hopefully the licence of the old boy will be withdrawn. Sounds a bit harsh.. I used to road race bilkes in my youth, was going to be the next English winner or the Tour de France (in my dreams) Untill an injury took me out at 16. So as you can imagine by putting a minimum of 4 hours a day on a bike i've had a few clashes with motorists who cant see. Spot Quiz ... who was our best hope of an English winner before he died on stage 13 of the tour
4parajon Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 I got knocked off my push bike about 8 years ago now, I went over the handlebars and stopped when my noggin hit the floor. I took legal advice because the bike was damaged (this was way before the "claim culture" set in) and it was'nt my fault, the brief looked at my bruises and said I would probably get about £2k for them. He was nearly right, I got just over £3k.
Smudger105e Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Burns, Mummy wants to know if you are Ok? And did the B'stard stop? Daddykins
Burns Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 yeah, i'm alright dad, just cuts and stuff (savlon and plasters work wonders) and yes, he did stop but then saw what he'd done and did a runner. i was in shock a bit so didn't get his numberplate or anything (and it was 1am and couldn't even see the colour of the car or anything) and i also forgot to call the coppers so there's no record of it (was a bit shaken up at the time) plus i bloody well have to walk to work tonight *sigh*
Smudger105e Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Try limping to work, probably more appropriate

Also he will be done if he dosnt report the accident you should report it ... any details are valid think i'm right in saying theres 24 hours to report. Any partial index number and make of car ???? If not ..1 am, cant be many cars using that route..just keep an eye out
Burns Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 hmm... only that it was an old style nissan micra i'll be walking that way tonight so i'll keep a lookout for him i'll give the local cops a call and see what they reckon
