Eg at the time, I could only afford one thing a month, so for example, had to save to buy a new battery, service bits the next month, etc...
PlopPlop Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 when I look at what my family has compared to familys in other countrys, and the fact I dont work but have 4 cars and a roof over my head, I got a telly, a dvd player, a computer, radio controlled cars that cost over 1200 quid, I sit here thinkin my familys not hungry, were not cold, what a terrible country, my bloody internet connection could feed a family in other countrys

PlopPlop Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 ya not doin wrong pal, my four cars are probably worth less than one of yours lol, all I'm tryin to say is before ya say ya got it hard, ask yourself 'compared to what' I'm a normal working class person that worked as a builder most of my life so know what battling to find work that everyother person coming into this country is looking for, when i don't work this country gives me money for food and pays my rent, its easy to point and blame but not so easy to understand economy, I will never be rich but I wont go hungry, I've lost more in the last two years than a lot of people have in a lifetime but I know what real poverty is so I'm still gratefull to my country and the foriengers that BUILT IT

All I can say is you may be sad watching your lady be taken/driven away by someone else but you'll be evn more sorry seeing your partners face with no home, and your kids faces with old crap cothes and no food. Simple choice really, if needs be .... SELL in my opinion. Better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all!! This country is in a poor state but I dont agree with foriegners, immigrants, etc. There is a whole host of issues but the biggy for me is the crap 'handout' state we have become. Where working is a mugs game, when people on benefits have 50" plasmas, smoke 20+ fags a day and drink constantly!!! Work ... why???? Something needs to be done for sure ... Just what????!!!!! What fact most people in this country choose to ignore is that the main reason for us all being in the shit is "GREED"! Not just the bankers but all the people who borrowed money on their houses to buy crap that they couldn't really afford. All these people that say "They threw the money at me so I just took it" What a load of irresponsible cobblers! We are now paying for the actions of greedy people.

Deffo family first On the other hand if you think you can get by without the cash injection then I'd say hang on to it, you will regret getting rid. I did As a side note, I don't personally think this country is fooked, not entirely anyway. We have been a lot poorer and a lot worse off in the past and we've always managed to come back up.

It's those irresponsible people's borrowing, those & most of us people that pay tax AND 'interest', etc (excl. VAT, tax on savings, tax on earnings, tax on 'normal' spends, tax on the cars we own through hard earned WORK and not to mention the tax on FUEL & HUGE interest rates on what we may borrow!!!! ) Which I might add ALSO helps massively to the NATIONAL economy !!!! This Country has become the poor state it has over generations of poor Government spending (and many other issues obviously!!) & there is no quick fix ..... Unfortunately. In my opinion!! That aside. if we can all try keep our OSF's on the road & looking great like they do then hey, it's a big middle finger to all the tax grabbers I say!! Long live the Revolution (when/if it starts!! lol) & OSF!!!!!

deltamal Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 My family was poor when I was a kid in the 50's, everything still bad from the war, lived in tied accommodation ie the house/cottage went with the job, usually mum working 7am till 6pm on the farm or housekeeping for a small pay packet plus cottage, and dad working away somewhere,home once a month if he could afford it, sister and myself sorting ourselves out with school etc, no social handouts, things improved a bit in the 60's with more work about and dad working from home and feeling posh when we could afford a fridge and black and white tv!
