 I'll keep an eye out for you and introduce myself, I'll point a few others out for you to avoid  When you land park anywhere you like in the top car park, there's no reserved parking and most tend to gather up there by the chuck wagon :ykt: I hope to be there 7ish, bring cash and an empty belly the burgers are always good

No problem and don't be worried about barging in, introducing yourself and asking questions there's only a couple of regulars that bite and we muzzle them

What's around the Ryton area? Apart from the Metro Centre? Any decent places to see or roads to do?

I'm not local to the Ryton area so hopefully someone else can chip in here.

the fat bloke is synergy (mark)

Hey get it right please, fat, balding, humpty backed, peg legged and yet still better looking than you :ykt::lol:

i will be there in either the focus or my 1200 bandit.

everytime i come away for a car meet though always end up wanting another old banger to mess on with.

Well the car has been cleaned out tonight so hopefully I wont be covered in sand when I turn up tomorrow (from the sandblasting).

Just need to figure out my plan of attack for tomorrow, whether I come through early and find something to do, or set off about 4 to get there for 6.

Any suggestions as to where I can visit???

if its a nice day you could always head to tynemouth or whitley bay. only 20 mins away from aliweld and its canny nice down there.

Oooo Fish & Chips at Whitley....tempting!

I think I am going to head into Newcastle itself, have a look in at the Discovery Museum (because I am a student and it is free) then have a walk down by the Quayside, admire the almighty St James' Park, find Mike Ashley and shoot him, and anything else that pops into my head on my wanders

So if I don't turn up at AliWeld....I am lost in the Toon!!!

Well what an eventful day! Enjoyed meeting everybody and looking at some lovely cars, Cortina and Anglia were my two favourites I think

Here is a post I put on the Fiesta MK1 Forum for you all to enjoy and laugh at:

Saved by a Vauxhall....another piggyback home!

by Dan492 » Wed 04 May, 2011 02:42

Well it is 02:38am and I have only JUST got back from the AliWeld Old Skool Ford Meet!

I would like to give a big thank you to Monty, Mark and Toby who assisted in the successful recovery of BCA and for escorting her to the meeting.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sadly, after the meet, BCA decided to give up the go once again. Toby and another bloke (forgot your name sorry mate) tried all they could to get her running again, but it was to no avail.

I waited until 22:32 to be assisted by a breakdown bloke, who found the issue was that the metal part of the rotor was not contacting the central cable from the coil as the spring was not erm....springy enough? :banghead:

He managed to fix it and we went in convoy to join the A69. All was well and away I went tootling along at 50mph on 70mph roads :thumbsup:

Anyway, 60 miles into the journey and spult spul....stop! It is now 23:56 and I am sat at the side of the A69 near Haltwhistle in a Bus Stop...

The SECOND recovery vehicle of the night turned up at....00:52!!!! (By which time I was asleep on the backseat, COLD!) And on it BCA was strapped.

BCA returned home, a sorry sight on the back of a Vauxhall Beavertail!

Once again thanks to all who lent a helping hand today, I owe you all a bloody nice cheese burger next month!:thumbsup:

I'm sorry you had all that trouble getting home Dan :( I hope you enjoyed your day enough to make it worthwhile and cone again. I think you're the one that deserves the special cheese burger for all your effort :ykt:
