mrprecovery Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 this is my my mk3 2.0s convertible. dont know who it was done by, all i do know is it started of life as a gold 2.0s and very early on in its life was converted. by what i can tell it was done by either a firm or someone who knew what they were doing. It has a 2.8i interior with shark gray recaros. Engine is fairly standard apart from high lift cam, twin choke webber and k&n filter. Janspeed exhaust and thats about it. i no it wont be everyones cup of tea but i like it,except when the roof is up but i say you dont buy a car for what itlooks like with the roof up.
jamesg Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 i dont normally like soft top capri's but yours works, very nice
2litreScapri Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Something a little different, must be fun to drive with the roof down
qwerty Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Looks quite good actually! Seems like a perfect combo to me. Are the side Skirts part of the Sill Strengthening?
lotusless Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 its good to be different how do you get on with the insurance though? did you get an engineers report done?
scootlife Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 looks good There used to be a company in Bracknell called Cameo Conversions and they did quite a few Capris and the like in the mid to late 80's . I cam remember taking my old Mk1 Fiesta to them to price up a conversion and they had just done a Batmobile replica. I wonder it it was one of theirs ?
mrprecovery Posted April 10, 2011 Author Report Posted April 10, 2011 thanks for your comments, Be good to look into see if i can build some history about the car. As for the insurance i had no problem insuring it. As i said i know it was done very early on in its life and it looks like a professional job, so all i can say is it must have been done when it was converted. Its down as a convertible on the v5 so who knows. let the hunt begin to find out who did the conversion. the side skirts are also solid steel which im guessing is where the strength comes from.
