Mannheimsfinest Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Hi, i`ve got a question! I have a 1300 escort mk2 automatic and I think I have a really bad fuel consumption. I need 10-11liter/100km. Is this ok? If not, what could be the problem? Maybe the carb or ignition?
Admin Vista Posted January 21, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 21, 2007 Using 10.5 litres and converting it all into UK measurements I make that around 27mpg, seems a little poor for a 1300 but it may just need a tune up and I guess it depends how hard you drive it.

The 1300 auto is 4.11:1 (?) and rpm at 100 km/ is about 4100 which explains a bit My 1600 manual has a 3.54:1 and consumes about 7L/100 km on long trips. Maybe twice that on short trips with cold engine around town
