GJUK Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 Hi all, Can anyone share with me photos of how you have mounted your line lock and where you have located your master cylinders (if you have a brake bias box) in your escort. The line lock I have is like this and the bias valve is like this: Where oh where, should I be mounting these? Thanks, Jon
PlopPlop Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 you've got a few choices mate and depends if you want the line lock on the front or rear brakes
GJUK Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Posted August 10, 2011 Cheers mate, Assume they are on the rear brakes with you? Looking at the brake pipe? I want them on the front brakes, just trying to work out a neat way to mount them and location!
PlopPlop Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 yeah mate, I found it easiest for me when plumbing the brakes, also someone one here will correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the bias valve had to be on the rear line.

Tom Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 Yep, bias valve to the rear. You'll have to run a brake line (for the front brakes) from the master, inside the car, to the line lock and back out again. It can be tough to make a neat job of this - I used an electric one so all I had to run was wiring.
Tom Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 Oh and I mounted my brake reservoirs on the heater bubble and ran the pipes through the bulk head under the lip where the scuttle meets it I see a lot fitted with the pipes going through the scuttle - to me this is a bit silly as it'll be a twat to seal and will cause water leaks into the car
GJUK Posted August 11, 2011 Author Report Posted August 11, 2011 have you got disks on the rear then No 9" drums, why do you ask?
PlopPlop Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 the bias valve is normally used when running discs on rear, too much rear braking otherwise
GJUK Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 Ah right thanks. I've fitted one now so at least it's future proof!
GJUK Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 Very very nice engine bay! Mine looks like this now. Binned the line lock but put in the bias valve. Took two days to do this, I helped but someone else did most of the work. watching them though it's a long job but simple enough to get your head around. Jon
