mk2 mike Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I want something to beef up security on my lock up (up and over door) for my OSF. My lock up is nowhere near where i live so I can't keep an eye on it. Anyone got experience of these, or do you use anything else? http://www.myersgaragedoors.co.uk/garage_defender.htm
FBF Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 That would tell me theres something worth nicking inside... I think whatever you do, if they really want it, they are gonna get it.
mk2 mike Posted September 20, 2011 Author Report Posted September 20, 2011 Thats a good point Dan. Maybe something less subtle? I was originally thinking of one of these on the inside of the door.
fieldy1972 Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 ive got 2 of those on the drive , infront of the garage door. the difference is ive got the ones that you dig about 8-10 inches into the ground. brilliant those posts.
Jiffer Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Thats a good point Dan. Maybe something less subtle? I was originally thinking of one of these on the inside of the door. these aint a sh1t of good one small pull with a bit of tube and they snap. these are better, (I've fitted no end) but there are more heavy duty ones on the market. they also make the point of being visable so they fook of and try an easier target. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/produ ... -raid-post
mk1estate Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 the security post are a good idea, not only does it stop your car getting nicked but if you put them directly in front of an up and over garage door it prevents the garage door from opening, not much good if you have roller doors though lol, but still a great deterant and lets face it anything to put the scum bags off is a bonus

I also have 3 large dogs and a large rabbit which is bloody nasty.
popeye Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Thats a good point Dan. Maybe something less subtle? I was originally thinking of one of these on the inside of the door. i fitted 1 off these inside the garage then push the car back to the post.. also dug a hole in the concrete floor, cemented a steel loop into the floor. and fit with a padlock and chain around the axle....seems to work unless your in a hurry to go out
SebringRS Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Bet no fooker could get in my garage (well hopefully ) Although, since being broken into the first time, we had it locked up like a prison in there 2 padlocks bolted through the door runners on the inside, bit of metal bolted to the wall and garage door, and small gate locks at both bottoms, plus the original garage lock, then also, got the house alarm system plumbed into the garage too, with a sensor at both entrances Although, that does usually get set of by a spider My mums work van serves a good purpose as a blocking object too
GJUK Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Now I have all your security details, just need your address now please. What time do you go to bed?
