john_3.0s Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Do the inlet seals do anyhting cleaver? anti vibration maybe? or is careful application of instant gasket just as good? am i just being a tight @rse????
HowieRPM Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Hi, If you are referring to Misab type seals then yes and yes (anti-vibration and a tight arse )seriously though they maintain a seal and dampen vibration to stop fuel frothing. Hope this helps Neil
john_3.0s Posted February 1, 2012 Author Report Posted February 1, 2012 haha better put my hand in my pocket then! I had a set which were damaged on a manifold I had should there be a spacer or somthing which is used to stop them being crushed right down?
HowieRPM Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Yes you can either use the thackery washer option or the Cosworth rubber mount type also made by Misab. I find thackerys always seem to crack after time so I use the Misab version, usually buy these off eBay; 360407696390 and the mounts;150731135429. So plates go between carb and manifold then the carb then rubber mount(washer, rubber bobbin, washer) then a nyloc nut and tighen down equally until there is about a 2mm gap inbetween the two washers, job done. Hope this helps Neil
john_3.0s Posted February 2, 2012 Author Report Posted February 2, 2012 yes thats great thanks, i better get some new ones then, ta
rallyesport04 Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 as above use the misabs an rubber bobbins the plastic plates with o rings an thackerys maybe cheaper but they just dont last nowhere near aslong
