there no doubt that scoobys are great cars,and out of the box they perform very well,not sure if they will be the new mk1mk2 escorts in years to come tho,you could be right tho who knows

I don't know that much about rallying but I have owned both cars and while I prefer my Escort i have lots of respect for the Scooby. Colin Mcrae also drives both and he knows a thing or two. My top three rallying icons would be in this order:

 

1. MK1 Escort

2. Subaru Impreza

3. Lancia Delta

cant say as i know much about subarus, the original impreza turbo looked very stylish iwhen it was new, i still think there neat and tidy, they were shockingly fast of course, but i think the new models look appalling

 

i knwo there gonna be way faster than any 'normal' OSF if there is such a thing, but i cant get past the max power on steriods looks, same goes for mitsubishi evos

also this has nothing to do with it being a ford (maybe hehe) but put a escort cosworth next to either the current model evo or impreza and they look terrible compared to the escort, in my eyes anyway.
