Yeomans22 Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Hi, done 30 miles in my car earlier and the bottom hose is still cold, is that normal? i would have thought it whould have been hotter, i've checked the thermostat on the cooker and it opened, nothing overheating, no steam, leaking water, temp guage reading a little above cold. heater work, and pump is working any ideas i'm not sure what to do as i dont want to break it now its workig again. thanks
Admin Vista Posted May 8, 2012 Admin Report Posted May 8, 2012 I assume there's heat in the top hose? It sounds like your thermostat is opening too early (or is faulty) and allowing water into the rad before the engine is properly hot. Then by the time it comes out the bottom of the rad, the water is cool again after the temperature drop as it goes through the rad.
cdeane74 Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 when top hose is hot, undo the clip on the cold bottom hose slightly to let a small amount thru,it should be hot after a few secs? had this on mine it was an air lock, good luck, could be that
