.. well, it seems the Government have backed down on the planned 3p fuel rise in August although it has only been moved to january instead  And ... I did notice that in my local Shell garage that Super Unleaded (V-Power) has gone down 3p a litre in the last week or so :thumbsup::thumbsup: It's still fookin 10p per litre more expensive than normal unleaded though :evil::evil:

Everyone moans about fuel prices... normally over a pint or 5.

But if you compare the price of that pint in the 70's to fuel prices in the 70's and todays prices, you would spit the pint out and drink the petrol ...its cheaper.

In 1970, a gallon of 4* petrol cost 80.00p. Of this, 67.7% was tax. Compared to 391.38 costs and 69.66% tax.

Thats 5 times the price ..

In 1970, a pint cost 10p, today its £3.00.

Thats 30 times the price ...

Like i said, its enough to make you spit your drink out.

Compared to a lot of everyday items, fuel is actually cheaper today than it was in the 70's ..

Price of a loaf in 1970 was 9p today its £1,30

Thats 15 times dearer.. perhaps we should blockade the Bakers???
