for about 2 years ive been trying to get the exhausts on my capri sealed to the manifolds properly. Its a flange joint and ive tried different size sealing rings and more exhaust paste than I can remember but I still cant get them to seal properly no matter how tight they are done up.

Before i cut the flanges off and make up a sleave to go over the top of them are there any really good exhaust sealants out there? maybe some kind of silicone based sealants?? Im getting really p!ssed off with them!!!! :banghead:

Ive always got a tube off kwik fit the type u put in a gun and make sure u got it really clean no old crap left on it and u need to run the car up before u do it to get the exhaust really hot or the water in the exhaust will make the sealant run off and dont use nylock nuts and u got to do it up even.

Do what i did mate , cut the flanges off and weld a flared pipe on to the manifolds and slide them on the centre boxes then use a normal 'U' clamp , no more problems  , the aftermarket ' rings ' never seal properly..
