So my current mobile contract is due to expire in a month's time and the Nokia smartphone I have at the moment came to an abrubt end at the bottom of a glass of wine (long story :lol: ) ... I have looked and there are sooooo many options that I am completely confused and googly eyed :shock:

.

So, all you techies out there .... I am looking for a mobile that I can use to phone people (unusual I know :lol: ) and that I can use to text and browse the web (mainly Retards Club :oops: ) and that is all I need it to do.

.

What would you recommend? What is current and good? I have always gone for Nokia's as I like their simple menus but people keep talking about Samsung being the best on the market. What do you reckon peeps?:thumbsup:

Like Jiffer says, Galaxy SIII is good, but huge. You've still got the iPhone, The Nokia Lumia (in various guises from basic to top spec), Sony Xperia S, HTC 1 is good.

If you're not too fussed about apps or unnecessary junk then it doesn't really mater what operating system you have so you can have more choice

What have you looked at so far Ms. Jo?

We've had our new Nokia Lumia's about 3 months now, she likes it, i'm working on site with grinders & dust and not a scratch on it, love it to bits :-)

i got an i phone 4, its 2 years old now and i must say its brilliant at what it does once u get used to it, but i must stress it does take some getting used to, however u are tied to apple which means u have to use i tunes on your pc for all your music and apps etc, and also its a bit annoying as u cant bluetooth much on it either, u cant bluetooth music or pics and u cant pick a song or whatever to set as your ringtone, u have to buy it from them or spend ages trying to make your own, as i say though the apps are super as is the internet camera etc, and once u get the hang of it very easy to use

iPhone ... Tried the galaxy's and the blackberrys but the iPhone is an amazing phone which u can make and receive phone calls, texts etc. you can have access to F/B and Tapatalk which is a great app for forums such as OSF :-))

My sons had both, iphone first, now the Samsung Galaxy and he says the Galaxy is a better phone. If you go to a 3 shop you can try working models of both to see which one you like. One last thought if you break an iphone you can't take the sim card out and put it in a cheap phone whereas with the Galaxy you can.

I struggle to use the Samsung stuff my missus has one and hates it, just waiting to have iPhone next which is what I have.

Always said I wouldn't go iPhone but really glad I did.

As for sim card you just buy an adaptor for a couple of quid and then sim will fit any phone again.

Cheers Chaps  Certainly some food for thought there

Phil - I am heading towards the Nokia Lumia as it seems quite easy to use. I think the Iphone4 will be too expensive for a monthly tariff and I don't like the fact you can't bluetooth anything to anyone with it - what a stupid idea that is! The Samsung phones seem quite good but there are so many :?:?

.

CheeRS again for all your input

.

And, Darren, stop moaning about Retards Club! There is quite a following on our OSF page on there :ykt:
