dmepham94 Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 hello, ive just bought a 1.1 mk1 fiesta and its come with just a speedo and no rev counter was wondering how to fit an aftermarket one or just an xr2 dash or something? any help is appreciated
Admin Vista Posted September 1, 2012 Admin Report Posted September 1, 2012 Welcome to OSF An aftermarket rev counter in a pod such as the one at the link below can be installed by connecting it to your coil -ve terminal http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TIM-Tachometer-0-8000-rpm-Rev-Counter-Tacho-Pod-NEW-/110873970252?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19d09a864c#ht_1761wt_1397 However, a neater solution would be to install a set of instruments from a Fiesta that was equipped with a rev counter in the dash, such as the one at the link below. You'd need to procure a wiring diagram to connect it up properly though as the pins may be in different places to the ones on your standard dash http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FIESTA-MK1-XR2-CLOCKS-SPEEDO-REV-COUNTER-TEMP-FUEL-/251140619149?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7925bb8d#ht_500wt_1414
