Savvi Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Standard ........... you have 2 other modded toys to play with, also if these silly new laws come into place you know you can at least still use the Rs
123escorts Posted September 18, 2012 Author Report Posted September 18, 2012 do you live on here or are you stalking me???...lol....i am thinking that i should just restore it.......
Savvi Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I'm thinking Trev should restore it and you just polish and break it.
Lil Bill Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I'd say restore it as mk2 RS200's do look awesome standard
lotusless Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Standard ........... you have 2 other modded toys to play with, also if these silly new laws come into place you know you can at least still use the Rs Me too too many modded cars atm " standard " is the future remember you heard it from me first
Mr2Caps Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Or do both, restore the body to standard and have modern running gear/additions like it might be if it were built today, electric windows, central locking, decent but not ott stereo, air con, disc brakes all round, duratec, six speed box. At the end of the day you should do what you want so you use it!
theloudboy Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Get the body done back to standard and then uprate the rest, that is what i have done with my mexico, i got a 2 door ghia to cut up, will you be coming to the meet at the eagle in the estate.
GJUK Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 hi all quick question i have a mk2 rs2k that is striped to a bare shell that has started to have all the rot sorted.... i did plan to fit a yb and have some trick mods done to the car so it looked stock but was a bit of a sleeper....but after talking to a few people inculding my mate trev who is doing the work and they say i should just restore it back to standard...so restore or modify???....what do you think???? If it's a real rs2k, restore. It'll be worth more when done properly. If its a half tatty 1100. They're quite boring to drive as standard!
Savvi Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Its a genuine Mk2 Rs2000 ...........
GJUK Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Its a genuine Mk2 Rs2000 ........... I realise that. I was just saying, if it were a 1100 (which it's not). Modifying it would be a good thing. J
123escorts Posted September 18, 2012 Author Report Posted September 18, 2012 thanks guys still not sure what to do with it........i think it will be worth more standard......but want it to go fast!!!!..lol..
SteveL Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Put whatever you like in it ,It's your car .Everything can be reversed.
theloudboy Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 thanks guys still not sure what to do with it........i think it will be worth more standard......but want it to go fast!!!!..lol.. I will have to take you out in my mex now it is done, the shell has not been touched only the running gear and it goes alright.
GJUK Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Also depends if you want to sell it anytime soon as well. Remember Forsticle, or Frosticle. Can't remember his exact username, he had a bright green rs2000 which he's stuck everything from a new age car to it. Then decided to sell up. I know it was advertised for a while, think it failed to sell on eBay. Not sure if he still has it or sold it. I can only expect that had it been a cosworth powered standard looking rs2k, or modified to suit the cars year more, it may have been worth more/easier to sell.
123escorts Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 yeah i know the car iv seen it a few times it wasent far from me....i wouldnt mod mine like that it was a bit over the top for my liking...think it had about 20 gauges mounted to the dash... wonder where it is now or what it looks like now??
rallyesport04 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 its your car do what ever you want to it if it was mine i probably do the same standard looking with the yb on carbs as it easily put back to standard for a quick sale if needed
