..... can be a disastrous thing.

Like in 1992, painting my Mk2 peach with a sky blue 'pulse' pinstripe and ridiculous S1 RST alloys...... full to the brim with amps and speakers.....

i always thought u just put too much hardner in the filler and thats why it was all that colour :huh::mrgreen:

Youre right..... The amount of filler that thing had in it, I couldve saved a few quid on the paint

No stereo's or bling this time -

You'll never persuade me that stereo's are a bad thing in OSF's, as long as it's not over done like the Max Power lot!

My car is the only sanctuary I have left to listen to my 80's heavy rock!

But peach? :eeek: did you swing the other way back then?:queer:

Mine was a few years after you first hitting the road in 1997 but I had all my taste faculties in the right place (I think) the daily back then was an 87 2.8i special, low mileage and totally stock (but for an electric window kit and Pioneer head unit).

Looks like I escape the fashion police 8)

I know, I hang my head in shame..... it was a time when the pro streeters and mini trucks were all running pastel paint.

Capri's look tidy

I wish I'd never sold the green one (sold it in about 2003) and I've never seen it again since. You'd think that the classic ford scene is small enough for it to turn up at a show or club meet somewhere but no. The special turned up for sale in Castleford about 5 years ago, it had been with the same owner ever since and was by then very much showing its age. It had about 40k on it when I sold it in 1997 and was mint.

Agreed, but I suppose in 1990's getting another wasnt to much of a hassle. But family life caught me off guard and when I was ready to buy again..... all the prices had gone through the roof

Same, the green one is a 3.0 litre GXL, it was mint and I struggled to get £3250 for it. The buyer complained that I was asking top money. He's probably doubled (at least) his money in 9 years if he's maintained it. Fortunately I didn't wait too long before buying the Mk1 RS2000, I thought they were strong money then but am glad I took the plunge when I did!

i don't think the colour or the wheels look terrible at all

i am old enough to have purchased the first copy of max power though (and many other copies after that)

i almost always had weird, unloved cars myself so fashion has never really played a part in my motoring

I actually like the colour (maybe not on a escort though) but not so keen on the wheels. Always liked that colour you could get 100e's in, pembroke coral, kinda reminds me of that
