Ste-V Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Hello all, I need new front and rear windscreen seals for my mk3 Capri. I have the name of a company on the tip of my tongue who sells them but I can't for the life of me remember, any ideas anyone? Thanks, Steve.
Tall paul Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 East Kent trim? My opinion, stay away. I'm sure I won't be the only one saying that.
Ste-V Posted October 13, 2012 Author Report Posted October 13, 2012 Thanks for the reply, how come? Price or quality? Any other suggestions then anyone other than eBay? Thanks
Tall paul Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Quality mate, had screen rubbers and chrome trims from them and the fit was shocking. I know there pattern parts but you would want them to fit properly. This was about 4 years ago so the quality might be better now. I ended up finding really good second hand ones and used them.
welshmike Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 I've just fitted a complete set of rubbers from East Kent on my Mk1 Capri and was happy enough with the quality/fit of them. Although ive never used any others to compare em to.
PaulMags Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 bought mine from east kent and thet really have'nt been in my car that long and there shite.cracking in the corners and a twaat to fit.better off trying to get some orig second hand ones.
Ste-V Posted October 14, 2012 Author Report Posted October 14, 2012 That'll do, cheers for the replies
welshmike Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Id like to update my previous comment, seals have been on about 5 weeks now, been driving the car most days for the last 2 weeks and the windscreen rubber is shite. seems to have 'shrunk' at both top corners and water pisses in. Im now on the look out for a genuine one, oh and you have to slam the doors and boot quite hard to get em to shut cos the seals are too thick/stiff. Not impressed with East Kent at all now.
Ste-V Posted November 15, 2012 Author Report Posted November 15, 2012 Thanks for that, not going to bother with them!
livewire7116 Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 the rear screan on a mk3 capri is bonded and will need it done by someone who knows what they are doing
shaun1.6ghia Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I heard all the rubbers come from same place unless specially made. Ive had mk2 escort front rubber from everywhere an they all s**t must have had 11 sets now an the corners always wrong shape. 3 friends had same problem. East Kent wouldn't do anything about it after buying 3 from them and complaining! Then again my mate had a mk1 whole set an they were perfect.
