welshmike Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Anyone know anythin about them? Did they all have the Essex V6? Is there any difference between them and a 3 litre Capri engine? What gearbox and axle did they use? If i could get hold of one cheap, and wanted rip the motor out, freshen it up and fit it into my Capri, what other bits could i use off it? engine mounts, radiator, prop/gearbox/clutch/flywheel etc? any of those bits the same as Capri ones? Also, are there any differences in Mk1 capri shells? Gearbox tunnels the same? Gearstick hole in the same place etc? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated
Admin Vista Posted January 30, 2013 Admin Report Posted January 30, 2013 later ones had cologne 2.8i engines
rallyesport04 Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 i think the axle is a sailsbury not the atlas i know the tub is easy to remove to get the running gear off not sure what the box is tho

It was a 4 speed with Overdrive but I've no idea where it was sourced from.

Probably an "LH" model Rear axle is a Salisbury 4HA the jaguar powerlok LSD' drops in the casings (some need mods), and is much stronger/cheaper than a Salisbury Atlas, but is also much heavier
welshmike Posted February 1, 2013 Author Report Posted February 1, 2013 Thanks guys, this is just the sort of info I need Keep it coming
