With cars like the mk1 Lotus Cortina, a colour change would affect its value very much as they only came in one scheme.

With AVO cars, providing an original AVO colour is used, I think the impact would be less significant but would probably still make a difference to the committed anorak.

If you're having a new VIN and body plate made up then yes you could have it altered so that the new colour was shown on the plate. It's only one digit on the VIN plate and doesn't affect the VIN number. But if the car is already registered with the AVO club, and most are, the colour change would still be documented somewhere.

I think people who buy avo cars want them to look like the real deal other wise they would buy

a replica or non ford colour car.

Cant see changing one rs colour for another would make any difference ,may add value if you change

to a rarer colour or one that's more popular.

If you change to a non rs colour you could still retain the same value as some like things different ,but i would guess you would limit the number of buyers making it harder to sale which

would effect value if you had to sell in a hurry lol . :D

Did that make any sense :lol::lol:

I think the answer to your first question varies massively according to what colour you are changing it to. If its another AVO colour I think it will make the least difference. If its DynoRod Orange then we might have to come around and have a word. :hush:

I'f your building it to sell it and make some money then I'd say keep it the orginal colour. However if your building it for yourself paint it whatever colour you like, it's your car and it should be how you want it, that's what I love about the classic ford scene everyone's cars are different and I think that's what makes the shows such as classic ford at pod so good as theres so much to look at! Where as ford fair where you get all the new stuff that's all the same... About 30 orange focus ST's parked next to 30 imperial blue Focus RS's

Just my opinion :D

I certainly wouldn't change it on the VIN/body plates whats the point? paint it what ever colour you like but i'd leave the code in place so that any future owners can see what the correct colour of the car should be. If its been changed on the VIN then people could think it may be a fake or stolen.
