tina2 Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Going through my magazine collection today sorting out what to get rid of, I came across Street Machine mags going back to 1985. I found in the 4 pot challenge that used to be run at Santa Pod a couple of Fords and wonder what became of them, are they still around? One is a MK1 Escort belonging to Gino Bernadino, reg no. WGH 737 M which was yellow with a black vinyl roof and was running a turbo,ed Lotus twincam. Pretty unique then as well as now I would think. The other was Peter Hayman,s MK4 Cortina in brown with a beige vinyl roof, reg no. ODW 33 R. This was a turbo,ed pinto if I remember right. Are these still around and if not what became of them? Would be interested to know.
russ105e Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Gino Bernadine still drag races a mk1 Escort , a cossie powered beast that runs in the 8's , I believe this is a evolution of the original yellow car . Peter Haymans cortina was written off a long time back I think I read somewhere
puddy Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 WHkH024HBbY Ginos escort last year I always forget about Gino's escort when talking about fastest yb powered drag cars in this country, although he also had a ybt in it for a while. You don't wanna buy jt's Ford Probe rolling chassis then Kev ? puddy
