cortinamark5 Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Pic of my brown Cortina mk5 2.0 GL I owned in around 1990 and my present daily driver 2.0 Ghia, auto, with power steering. Present car is standard apart from wheels (I have the original Ghia wheels) the inner and outer sills have been done, some welding in the footwell and plates welded left and right in boot, I replaced all the chrome trim (made a big difference to looks), replaced weather seal around boot, new shocks and thats all Ive done really. My past car I had in the 1990 I fitted a Kent cam, 4 branch manifold, 45 weber, peco exhaust, adjustable spax shocks, lowered springs and minulite wheels.
In The Pit Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 I love the picture by the thatched cottages with the church in the background, looks just like a Ford publicity shot, thats exactly the type of background Ford were using in their brochures at the time of the MKV Cortina (if you haven't seen any check some out you'll see what I mean)
rusty82 Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 my better half wants a brown one but she said that she wants it tobe air brushed to look like a well known brand of chocolate half unwrapped....strange doris

My past car I had in the 1990 I fitted a Kent cam, 4 branch manifold, 45 weber, peco exhaust, adjustable spax shocks, lowered springs and minulite wheels. Where did you source the chrome trim from? Did you do around the top and sides of the doors on the rain gutters? I've looked everywhere and only found one place but it's not the exact replica and no corners. Any help or advice welcomed! Lovely motors.....I'm just in the middle of a restoration myself. Not too much longer hopefully!
