Ok I have purchased a brake upgrade of eBay new m16 calipers with spacers and bigger discs , in the picture I know what to do with the actual spacers the bolts and the cotton pins , but what are the thick washers and the rubber seals for? No instructions with mine......

Cheers

Paul

The rubber seals are to go between the caliper and the space plate though you actually need four of them per caliper (one either side of the spacer plate) but the cheap skate companies who supply the kits generally only give you two and tell you to reuse your originals one side. Top tip, don't. Get enough new ones to do the job as they'll be very old.

The thick washers I think are the ones you use between the caliper and strut to centralise the caliper over the disc

Thanks any ideas where I can get the correct rubber seals from?.

I bought some for spacing the Princess calipers on my mk1 but that was 2005 and I can't remember where I got them. Try big red brakes as a first port of call

Do I need brake disc locking tabs as I don't have any in the kit I bought?

I think that's down to the person doing your MOT and I'm not sure what the MOT rules specifically state about it. As you've got the tabs though, I would fit them.

No I got the pic off ebay I don't have the tabs, what are they for and do I need a specific size to fit my m16 calliper?

You can get o-rings from bearing suppliers on the Internet such as http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/O-rings-1050-c

You will need ones made of VITON as it is coming in contact with brake fluid.

I don't think you need the locking tabs to pass an MOT. It has been donkeys years since that system has been used as a method of stopping your bolts coming loose so wouldn't see why they would fail it!!
