gazbd1 Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 Hi just a quickie I'm throwing out there if you had the choice of a set of twin 40s which would you go for and why ? Weber or dellorto ?
SmokeEm Posted May 2, 2013 Report Posted May 2, 2013 Webers all the way - the parts availability and knowledge of set ups etc is 2nd to none. However, I would never buy 40's unless a very low spec X flow. You can set up 45's to run a mid spec X flow/Pinto easily and leave yourself room for improvements later. You'll never see more than about 150bhp from 40's if that but I have seen 180 plus from 45's. Buy once, buy best IMHO. Just my own opinion...
gearbox100 Posted May 2, 2013 Report Posted May 2, 2013 i would buy webber due to them beeing more common so parts would be cheaper , but i do know people that prefere delorto`s on there engines . A local man to me owned his own rolling road and was a webber dealer but ran dellorto`s on his own vauxhall powered mk2 escort and beleave me money was no object in his build . His others cars did include a wrc focus .
shaun1.6ghia Posted May 2, 2013 Report Posted May 2, 2013 I run dellorto's an never had a problem with them. Parts are easily available an filters in the carbs are a better design IMO
