You shouldn't have gone to the E30! You'll get hooked, I started with E30, then E46, then E34, E30 conv, E90, now back to E46 as daily driver... I love all 'old' Fords but all BMWs... Well except diesels and SUVs

Hmm e30, I've got my Anglia and a e36 325 td which has recently replaced my e30 325i touring as it was so bad on fuel, I've still got the touring as I can't seem to let it go after being in the family for so many years and I've also got a Honda cg125 for when I really want good fuel economy.

I have found when my escort was 1600 with 5speed it started every time a wanted to drive it everywhere an anywhere an wouldn't hesitate to but now it's lower (was -2 now around -3 or more) on 175-50's an running Zetec on carbs I try not to take it too far, although drive it daily I can't have more than one passenger. That's why my consul is being built, as a daily (although I feel it will take over for a while) an keep the escort for nice weather.

Funny how when it was 1600 I enjoyed it more as it drove calmer and never let me down yet the need for speed an better sound now ruins my hearing and it hates being stuck at one speed.

Just couldn't handle being beaten off the lights by crap with idiots laughing (look at that old car)

I hardly used my lowered mk1 Escort zetec on 175-50's Kids hated it, too noisy, scraped on every bump etc.. My 1700 xflow on 185-60's gets used much more, just need my 5 speed fitted to make it perfect. Using it as daily this week.

Hi thrashermax sounds like a similar situation there. I can see my escort being tidied up an not used for a long time if the consul is enjoyable to drive. (That's hopefully what I'm building it to be like). It really has had some stick so deserves a little rest and tlc. This winters not gonna do it any favors tho
