lillynowers Posted July 21, 2013 Report Posted July 21, 2013 Hi, please can anyone advise me on fitting rear seat belts to my newly acquired Mk 1 Escort. Thanks
68supermk1 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 I ended up welding plates in the piller and some in the floor well try get some pics on 1
scootlife Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 you can get universal ones. ive got a 3 point static one in mine at the moment , but im looking at putting internia ones in. i noticed the other day that a jaguar xj6 had ones that fitted on the rear panel and could do the job quite well.
Savvi Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 Securon do kits for all makes & models. http://www.securon.co.uk/ You can also buy all the strengthen bits for the pillars if needed.
Tel1972 Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 I've just brought a set from a mk3 capri belts to fit in my Mk1 Escort, gonna need to get another couple of captive nuts welded to the inner sill to fit the bar for the fronts. But not looking too easy to mount the rear's. May have to rethink.
Savvi Posted July 28, 2013 Report Posted July 28, 2013 For mk1 2 door you fit them on the rear shelf ........... as I said above if you look on the Securon site it list's all makes & models including escort, then the kits comes with everything you need. I got the part numbers then bought off ebay or local motor factors, wasn't much in the price tbh but ebay did save me a few quid even tho I had to wait for them.
stuartp Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 sure I read somewhere or someone told me that later mk1s have the holes under the seats already there to attach them - I may be wrong there though as I don't have any rear seatbelts in mine
mk2 mike Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 sure I read somewhere or someone told me that later mk1s have the holes under the seats already there to attach them - I may be wrong there though as I don't have any rear seatbelts in mine My mk2 has those. Captive nuts welded in place with grommets in under the rear seat. No idea if a mk1 is the same though? Worth a lift of the seat base to find out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Savvi Posted July 29, 2013 Report Posted July 29, 2013 Only some of the very late Mk1's have those I think. 1
designosaur73 Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 I've just bought a Mk2 estate and need to fit securon belts to the back - will the reels have to be bolted to the boot floor on one of these?
shaun1.6ghia Posted November 12, 2013 Report Posted November 12, 2013 Nice info, would be nice to see some conversions people have done putting seatbelts in osf's that didn't have any
