Thought I may as well put up some pictures and a bit of info about my mk5.

Well, it's a cardinal red over silver 1600 I've owned since 2007, bought in Coventry with a huge stack of receipts, old mots and tax discs from when it was new.

I replaced the wings and front valance as a bit of tin worm found its way in there. Then got it mot'd.

Been in daily use since then. Only time off the road was following a crunch 2 years ago while it was being repaired where it had new slam panel, midsection and lower valance along with a bonnet and n/s wing. Also fitted Mk2 granada rubber front spoiler along with the genuine Cortina RS rear spoiler.

It's been fitted with a 2.0 pinto with a 60thou overbore, lightened and balanced bottom end, Kent FR22 cam with vernier pulley, Burton vacuumless fast road distributor, twin DHLA Dellortos with K&N filters set up at the Airey Tuning Company and a full Ashley system and manifold.

Also got poly bushed rear axle, adjustable shocks all round and deep steel wheels. Type 9 gearbox with quick shift and hopefully (If I have the time) it will have its lowered springs on (-2 inch) before the summer show on Sunday!

As the silver lower half of the car was starting to look a bit scruffy along with the centre of the bonnet, I decided to go for the South African Cortina XR6 Interceptor look and give it a bit of Satin Black to smarten it up. Father donated his spare mk4 grille to try it out and away I went!

Added a bit of red pin striping to the black areas and I think it sorts it out quite well!

Anyway, enough waffle and have some piccies!!

Hope you like!

Very nice. You must be local to us if Tom Airey set her up for you. Mr layby man is truly gifted...

Based in Gosport, not too far Away. Drove past the layby for him several times before realising that was where he was. The joys of an early morning start!

Same as mate, same as. Just years ago. My old supercharged 100e wouldn't fit on his rollers (Pro street tyres too wide!) so he set it up by ear. I was running a Holley back then
