My car
mark reed ford replied to mark reed ford's topic in READERS RIDES (PAST & PRESENT) PICTURES, BROCHURES & ARCHIVES
Thanks guys, I have everything crossed. -
Hi Guys, just thought I'd show my car once again, its been a while, its a bit of a sad moment because due to financial issues I might have to sell my this car. its been with me over 12 years and has all its Ford panels still intact, including all the floors sills and jacking points which can still take the weight of the car, the boot is like new as are the inner wings, original engine, carpets and I'd estimate 60% original paintwork, I'm trying to hold on to it at the moment, if I do have to sell it, I can't see my self ever being able to find one this original ever again, its been a great car and very reliable. I won't be giving it up without a fight.

I lost my job last year and was forced to leave my car off the road but now I'm back working again, I took the car for its MOT 1st March and it passed with no advisory but on the way she was miss firing and spluttering, I can't blame the car it had not run in three months so I am to blame, being in the garage I assumed it would be fine, she finally cleared once warmed up and with fresh fuel. I decided to changed the ignition leads and cleaned the distributor cap and rotor arm, and tomorrow I will buy a new coil and fit that too, just to be sure she is fighting fit for the new season of shows.

Hi folks, A a friend of mine (Paul) has an imported 1980 Escort RS2000 from South Africa V5 and all documents are present, its a rolling shell with no engine or gearbox colour is orange and is being sold as a restoration project, the car is solid with no rust but will require work its been stripped down to bear shell but its a good starting point for a great car, he is looking for £4000. I would recommend you visit the car at his home and get your own opinion of it before you buy. Contact mobile 07538097892 He is in the Swansea area

Hi Filip welcome to the forum.

Great to see the car recovered, I hope those responsible are suitably punished. I know how I would feel if it happened to me! We all spend a great deal of time effort and money on our cars either to bring them up to scratch or modify them, with values rising we all become targets for the unscrupulous criminals looking to make money, I personally have decided to insure the car all year round and get the value agreed by the insurance company. We all have a part to play here by fitting extra security to the lock-ups and cars when we can't be with them, we have to make it as hard as possible for criminals.

Great Capri Pedro! If I was to buy one that's the car I would want a 1600GT XLR, good luck with it.

I see your point but people pay the price because they have no choice, the problem is the law isn't strong enough, if someone steels your car and is caught they should be locked up and forced to work night shift to pay you compensation and also pay for any damage, if they refuse to work just leave them in prison until they do. I would pay them 50p an hour so it takes time to make the money, they should be given a loan to pay the debt and can't get it out of prison until its paid off. sorry to rant but we all have work hard to get these cars and the thought of some scum bag just taking it gets my back up.
