Streetfighter Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Not been on for a while, I had a catastrophic fuel pressure/feed issue on my CA18DET powered MK1 Cortina and since that's now fixed i'm hitting the suspension and bodywork. However, MK1 Cortina top mounts are a nightmare to get quickly, so my question is.. Exactly what is involved in fitting MK1 Escort etc top mounts to a Cortina?
Mgentry90 Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 In theory could you not cut away the metal from inner wing where the suspension mount holes are, and refabricate ones with different size holes for escort ones? Just a guess so double check with the fabricating nerds
jas Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Someone did tell me that u can make hillman hunter ones fit but i dont no what there like to get.
Streetfighter Posted October 3, 2013 Author Report Posted October 3, 2013 By the looks of it Volvo 240 ones can be used as well. That would be useful as they will be more readily available and a load cheaper.
livewire7116 Posted October 4, 2013 Report Posted October 4, 2013 how about E30 bmw roller top mounts? might have to redrill the holes and make an adaptor collar but readily available and cheap
Streetfighter Posted October 10, 2013 Author Report Posted October 10, 2013 E30 mounts look a good candidate, but also like they'd drop the ride height about 2 inches.. Also look like they need alot of modification.. Has anyone successfully fitted them to a Cortina or similar?
