  1. Just a quick one, anybody know if 15×7 ET25 wheels with 195/60 or 205/60 tyres will fit an OSF, specifically a MK1 Cortina without any arch modifications?
  2. Ordered an Escort 4 link and panhard road so I'll be modifying that end of next month. Car has no rear seats anymore so losing them isn't an issue, I just want to be able to do burnouts and not kangaroo for the next 3 days 😅
  3. So for custom anti tramp bars it looks like I could come off the outside of the axle, just before the U-bolts as a place to fit the brackets.. Although my A frame brackets are in the way of fitting rail brackets so perhaps up through the floor would be better?
  4. I've never seen a 4 bar kit for a MK1 Cortina.. I thought the GT had anti tramp bars but I can't find photos to find factory locations (Not that I'm too bothered about factory)
  5. I wish they did a 4 bar kit for MK1 Cortinas.. Any idea how much of a pain fitting an Escort 4 bar or tramp bars to a Cortina is?
  6. This is an old photo, that shite rod at the top hasn't been there for about 2 years. But the setup is 95% the same.
  7. Also has a MK1 Escort rear anti roll bar fitted. But I'm not convinced it has an effect either positively or negatively 😅
  8. I can grab a photo tomorrow, the only part of the springs left is the front half, the rear half has been removed and it now just acts as a locator. No side to side movement on the axle with or without weight on though.
  9. As the title suggests, I have appalling axle tramp on my MK1 Cortina when hanging the back end out and anything over a quick launch from standstill.. 275-300BHP, "A" frame, coilovers, Spax adjustable gas rear shocks, 2.8 spring fronts as locators.. Any help on where to start looking would be appreciated 😊
  10. This was just a generic check so I'm certain no real angles were checked. No bump steer and when driving the steering is fantastic, it's just this weird shimmying the wheel does on lock. I don't want to break any joints.
  11. Also I just saw the photo I took of the readout when I got the toe angle sorted a while back. It's actually about 2°12' negative camber!
  12. Ah I get you, my bad! Using modified Capri struts to fit Cortina inserts, adjustable Escort TCAs, compression struts with no roll bar, eccentric solid top mounts.. Modified as in the steering arms were extended by about 1/2"
  13. Modified MK1 Escort setup, but i kept the front bowl sump if the CA18DET because it's easy enough to navigate round.. 11/2 set camber? What's that? I'm running about 1.75° negative camber.
  14. I've got camber, castor and toe adjustment on my racked MK1 Cortina, but on full lock (forward and reverse) I get this weird scrubbing/hopping feeling through the steering wheel. Wondering what camber, castor and toe figures people are running on Cortinas, Escorts and so on that don't experience this little feature.
  15. Running 350 on a Nissan CA18DET.. Nobody has been able to give a straight answer on how tough these 3J and so on shafts are. I'd rather break some drive shafts than hundreds of pounds worth of halfshafts. Car gets given a very hard time all the time.
  16. I think the hardest part would be having the control arms move without hitting the chassis rail on full compression. That said I'm running 200lb × 14" coilover springs so I doubt that'd happen. Can pick up an entire Sierra Bosworth rear subframe for less than a standard Atlas axle so any fabrication work would be worth it.
  17. I see what you mean now about it being like a solid rear, I didn't think about that type of setup but that's very clever..
  18. Ah, I see. I read that wrong then! If you could get some photos that'd be great, only photos I can find are of McRae's IRS MK2 Scrote and even then the photos are pretty gash!
  19. Oh, so you used the standard Sierra lower arms/hub retainer and just used the cradle to locate the 2 bushes? That'd make life lots easier, thinking about it.
  20. What did you fit the Sierra gear into? Did you have to do any width narrowing? I'm thinking of a 4X4 LSD, making a cradle and having control arms made up that'll incorporate mounts for my rear coilovers. I'm guessing the shafts and diff will handle 300+ boosted BHP.
  21. As per the title really, are there many OSFs running Sierra diffs? I'm starting to get some decent power through my Cortina and I want something a bit special at the rear end. Ideally ford stud pattern. Before anyone says Atlas, they're ludicrous money nowadays and if I've got to get things shortened and so on an IRS just makes nose sense to me, rightly or wrongly! I've heard tales of 4X4 front hubs, custom cradles and shortened driveshafts, but any solid info is greatly appreciated.
  22. So this little saga is still continuing.. Due to the extensive modifications they can't seem to get a decent idea of the value.. Well it was a taxed and MOT'd, genuine daily driver (So clearly it had to be of good standard), recently fitted NOS steel rear arches, front headlamp repairs (interior and exterior) and was getting ready to be resprayed 2 days after the crash date, so it had no interior fitted.. Now they are saying because the new metal was different colours and there was no interior fitted it reduces the value of the car.. Umm.. Really?
  23. Figured I'd do a quick update.. One assessor has been to see her. The guy knew nothing, his first words were "Obviously full of filler" so I spent 10 minutes showing him 50 photos proving there was NO filler in the car.. I'd rather it was slightly wobbly than full of pug.. So I'm having another sent out.. Bought a 2nd hand door and it's rough. Really rough. I'm hoping for her to be done before Christmas.
  24. Not sure on the Cat yet. Most likely a C. The wheels are 13X6, only photos I have are of the ones I've uploaded already, I've been after 14" or 15" Wolfies for the rear, but they seem not to exist anymore..
