My old man moans like hell about modern engines in old cars, like when I put the DOHC in mine. But then told me I should have Zetec'd it. And kept the standard injection? But then he moans about me wanting to bike carb my pinto engine and/or supercharge it, yet has a 350bhp 2006 crate 350Ci Chevy V8 in his 1956 truck with a 2007 auto gearbox? Parent's are just weird...
-
My personal preference is around 4 to 5 degrees. And with the extra weight of a pinto up front it's gonna have more body roll, and therefore more scope for negative cancer to be useful. I did think adjustable TCAs and eccentric top mounts would be a good step. I just didn't want to commit before hearing suggestions etc.
-
I've just realised I put between 10 and 20 degrees, I meant 2.5 - 10, i've no idea where 10 and 20 came from, I think that yellow thing has about 15 degrees...
-
Ha, that's a little to severe, I think the max i'd run would be between 10 and and 20 degrees and adjust obviously depending on cornering issues and tyre wear. That thing in the photo has to handle like crap
-
I just think the stance of a car on wider rear wheels with proper negative camber on the front looks great. And having driven a few OSFs with pretty severe NC I much prefer how they drive and feel
-
I've got a MK1 Cortina, and i'm wondering, what's the best and most cost effective way of creating some... Interesting negative camber? Right now I have standard steering and front suspension save for 3" lowering springs on the struts. Help appreciated because I love negative camber

I've seen it. It's not as bad as you might think. The majority of the violence and crap (excuse the pun) is covered up or in your own imagination. However, don't spend your own money on it, borrow it from some other freak that wastes their cash on garbage

Like the furthest you can be away from the Scottish border Glad my mate Dean's not on here, he'd cry at me talking about his precious border

We've had a few in the house and covering the Cortina. Had one in the other night that was wearing a German helmet and Boots. Don't kill them though, they make a mess.

Play up Pompey They finally start winning the games when I actually go see them. Good

Be alright, people might actually have a case for moaning about "Global Warming" if it suddenly goes pop. Anyway red sky at night, shepherds delight. Red sky during the day, we're fu**ed anyway -
I got it the day it came out. Love it, love racing in the wet. I'm with lotus and so far i've had results of 10, 10 and 2. And i'm on pole for the next race

see wolfrace are bringing back the slotmag for 2011
Streetfighter replied to 285Andy's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
yeah, i'd have a nice set of polished Star Mags, same issue again though, 15s are nowhere to be found... -
Agreed, bad idea. For a start it'd be half the regular income from MOTs and MOT work for a garage. And like somebody already said, a load of cars JUST scrape by with an advisory sheet 6 foot long. The idea should be when you get your car MOT'd. YOU should have to be MOTd as well. Why should your car be in a fitter state to be on the road than the person driving it? Eye tests, reaction tests etc, make sure both car and driver are up to standard

I'v got 13X6s fitted to my MK1 Cortina.. I've been struggling like hell to find 15s and especially 15X7 or 8s.. Guess i've got a 2011 wish list... Love my Slot Mags. -
Yeah, we get people supplying their own parts. Still expecting some form of warranty. Or having them tell us what they've diagnosed the fault as, make us do the job, and whine when what they insisted we did had bugger all to do with the fault in the first place Man I hate people sometimes...
-
I remember seeing this about a year ago and thinking to myself.. I wonder who the unlucky sod is that's gonna have to tell him his dancing sucks
-
2.8 hubs fit? on the standard Cortina leg you mean? Anyone have any knowledge on how to get those Capri brakes on.. I don't wanna spend hundreds on 2.25 springs etc when the setup I have lets me blitz most modern crap anyway
-
I mean just in general. There seem to be very few Cortina uprated or upgrade parts. All seems to be Scrote or Capri. I just used the crossmember as an example of something that can be swapped easily. I'm happy with the steering box, I just drive to suit it
-
It's so difficult to find parts for MK1 Cortinas. Does anybody have a list or some kinda of idea what other parts interchange to a Cortina with little or no modification. E.G. MK1 Escort crossmember. Things like that?

Indeed, Power isn't everything. It's the ONLY thing ... Though any power is useless if the engine won't run. So reliability does factor a little

I'm using a MAP sensor, fitting a TPS to Fireblade carbs seemed too much of a faff

As some of you know I had some trouble getting an ignition map for my RS2000 DOHC engine. I emailed the guys at Trigger-Wheels, who make the RS2000 kit. And within 20 minutes I had a reply, and an ignition map for the Megajolt system.. Not entirely sure if i'm allowed to plug companies, but they seem well worth plugging in my view

Don't you just hate your cars and ideas sometimes?
Streetfighter replied to Streetfighter's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
I keep getting told to sell her. But the adventure is always there. Plus, how many people go through town just to see the reflection of their car, i'm thinking a Micra isn't worth looking at in windows Even so, right now i'd quite hapilly give the Cortina a smack with a branch
