  1. Sorry to be so thick on this, it's the one part of the work that's stopping me from banging into this.. Would it be possible to run the 16v RS2000 DOHC, with an 8v DOHC flywheel and a Type 9 with to be honest a mystery bellhousing? I assume it's Sierra, Capri, RS2000.. I can't imagine i'v lucked out and gotten a diesel BH.. Also would that mean that with the 8v flywheel I could retain the RS clutch, cover etc? Basically I have a type 9 with a mystery BH, an entire 16v RS2000, a garage, tools, welder etc, and can really only afford to spend £100, and have a chosen deadline of Wheels Day I like a challenge...
  2. What flywheel was that with?
  3. the round ones, looks like my deadline for Wheels Day isn't gonna happen.. This alwayts happens, the old man irritates the hell out of me and my hugely competitive side comes out.. Oh well, Modify and overcome...
  4. Now i'm the one needing help.. I got the engine back off the friend, because my Dad bet me that I couldn't get the engine and box in my MK1 Cortina and have the car running within a month.. Being a dick, I accepted.. So does this sound sensible now, that because the input splines for the Type 9 and the MTX75, that a pinto flywheel should in theory go on the back of the I4 Engine as long as the crank bolts line up and that I can the run a pinto clutch? Help really needed because I hate losing
  5. It's called emulsification, it's water and water vapour in the engine and airbox etc mixing with the oil, and under the extreme pressure of the bearings, piston rings and so on actually mixes together.. So now you can prove that whoever say's oil and water don't mix is talking out their ass
  6. I'll tell him to bang out the grinder and a micrometer
  7. As long as the bolt pattern is the same I think that's all that matters. I figured the bolt pattern would be the same what with it being a Ford.. I would have thought that the flywheel and clutch etc would change over fine simply because of the splines etc being the same.. I guell we'll see when the engine is out
  8. Question from a friend of mine.. He recently bought the 1995 RS2000 i'd had laying about, and he asked me if the type 9 gearbox would bold straight to the back of the rotated RS engine.. I know the input shafts are the same at 1" by 23 spline. But he needs to know if the bolt pattern is the same for these boxes.. ANy halp appreciated, since it will make me look more knowledgable than I really am
  9. Ah this is true.. Bugger.. Well on my honour as a Cortina driver, I can honestly say I wouldn't make a MK1 Pink.. I'd expect some serious abuse from my friends
  10. Certainly not pink, wasn't even a consideration
  11. Any chance, I feel slightly cheeky for asking.. Of one with no front or rear bumpers, and Wolfie Slot Mag wheels.. just a blank drawing.. Thing is I don't want somebody liking my idea for a scheme and having the money to get it done first..
  12. Lukey, brilliant, even better that mine is actually a 4 door.. My girlfriend photoshopped a picture for me, but it came out metallic, not straight. And i'm useless because i've never tried before.
  13. I have seen those 3D pictures, only problem is I don't want anybody stealing my idea, because as far as I am aware, it's not been done on a MK1 Cortina.. Yet.
  14. A bit of an odd question, but line drawings of cars/bikes (good ones ) Do they exist and does anybody have one or 2 of a MK1 Cortina? I'm trying to settle on a paint scheme, but since my photoshop skills are.. Well, beyond crap I thought i'd go back to good old paint...
  15. Would an Atlas even be able to take 300+ bhp?
  16. So basically just as much effort to alter an 8 or 9 inch Ford Axle then...
  17. Very quick question, is it possible to fit Atlas internals into an English axle casing.. In other words will Atlas halfshafts etc fit into the English casing without modification?
  18. That's ridiculously good, i'm thinking racing game, maybe around 60's BTTC cars, bit of money in that...
  19. Quick question, everyone knows the 1800 Zetec from an Escort has a front bowl sump.. But does the 2 litre in the RS2000 have a front bowl sump?
  20. 235/50s?? What's the Manufacturer?
  21. I know but a 1700 Pre Crossflow, white engine, sparkly silver interior.. The whole car is a bit over the top, so I wan't needlessly wide tyres
  22. What are the widest tyres you can buy for the road to fit a 13 inch wheel? My Slotmags are 6J 13s.. And I can't find wide enough tyres, I have 205s on the rear but want those on the front and something wider on the rear..
  23. I'v read part of the spec... I'm only going for around 150-170BHP though, gotta be okay on the road.. Some irritating idling etc I can deal with to piss off modern cars between the lights
  24. The ONLY one... I said somebody must know but that's pretty specific lol.. However, good tip, will try
  25. I have an early L Block 1500 Pre Crossflow.. I have been informed by a well respected builder I can use a 1600 CROSSFLOW crank.. However, what I wasn't told was.. The crank throw on the Crossflow is higher than on the Pre Crossflow.. So my question ladies and gents is.. What the hell Con Rods do I use to avoid having my £500 pistons smashing my £300 Cylinder Head??? SOmebody has to know, PLEASE!!!!
