mk2escvan Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 -/Hello I own a mk2 escort van "HUD 250W" which has been sorn/garaged for eleven years whilst I accumulate all the pieces that are needed to reconstruct. When I bought my van initially it was a standard 1300 apart from the front struts which had been replaced with what I believe to be 2 litre struts from a capri/Cortina (discs) and a quick rack,it handled like a supermarket trolley hence needed all the bushes replacing, over the years ive gradually accumulated as cheaply as possible a 2 litre pinto (which I intend to take to pieces and reconstruct ) RS alloy sump, 4 speed box, single piece prop,2" exhaust, twin choke weber off an rs2000,refitting with new parts where possible hopefully it will drive like a new van when its all done, Ive actually lost track of parts that ive got/need and at present im building an extention over winter and this summer I have to complete our garden that I began landscaping last summer so by the time ive done all of that I will probably be looking at Autumn at the earliest for the van just as the weather turns again. All I know is that I will be like a kid on Christmas day when I get it back out on the road and im really looking forward to reconstructing my pride and joy 3
