Dear old skool essex

After looking forward for 2 weeks and polishing my Anglia up to come to your meeting, I can't tell you how disappointed with the chaps both myself and my friend were.

You all made no attempt in talking to us, nor making us feel welcome. You all knew I was coming as you all use the website.

In fact we found all of you most rude!

The only persons that made any attempt to make us welcome was the young lady and Loudmouth, even his dog made us feel more welcome.

Thank goodness 2 of my other friends with classic fords were unable to attend.

Naturally, we shall not be attending nor recommend your meets to others.

Hi there

Without wishing to appear rude

Some of us were held up due to traffic and other things so unfortunately weren't able to be at the Eagle at 18.30 on the dot as we all have families/commitments etc....

Also

You were greeted when you arrived by one of the members

However just saying hello then asking where everybody was (to which you were told people were unfortunately held up and to give it a little while) and then moving your car to the back of the car park (lovely Anglia btw) maybe didn't inspire others to think you wanted to be involved....

We are a great friendly bunch here in essex oldskoolford however it does require your participation too!!

Also I think that by posting this message on here publically is a little bit....

Well.... 'Off' shall we say....

We didn't win classicford magazines meet of the year for nothing

A lot of hard work has gone into making this meet the success it is and that's testament to the members (new and old) that put the effort in. Its a shame you left so early as it ended up a fairly busy meet tonight despite most of us freezing off our extremities.....

We are a friendly bunch but as pcoe says, it takes participation on all sides for these meets to work. Hope to see you again soon, I was looking forward to seeing the Anglia which by all accounts is very nice!

In response to steve123e1500gt.

I'm sorry you feel this way but as a fairly new member to these meets I can say that everyone has made me welcome, otherwise I wouldn't make the effort to stand in the cold in February to talk to rude people. I arrived at 19:30 and didn't even see your car there, if it was still there?then thats probably why no one even knew you were there. When ever I go to a new meet I always to talk to people about there car as this breaks the ice. Try this the next time you go to a new meet or show, and park where people can see your car. I am quite a shy person but realise the need for participation. Good luck in the future.

Hi Steve,

Really sorry you feel this way! I arrived around 19.30 also, so didn't get a chance to chat or see your car. I'm a fairly newish member too, having only attended the meet for about 12 months. In that time, I've found the guys to be so friendly and helpful. I started off just coming down by myself and introducing myself, since then I've looked forward to every meeting, including coming down all through the winter months. I appreciate sometimes it's not easy to find out who is who after talking on a forum, but it takes two to tango :)

Give it another chance, come and say hi, bring your car over and I promise you you'll find us a friendly bunch :)

Cheers,

Dave

Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you but as said due to work and family commitments I personally can't get to the venue much before 19:30, it starts from 18:30 because some members live local or take there osf 's to work with them and come up on there way home.

I'm sure Loudboy (mark) or who ever else you spoke to wouldn't have been "rude" to yourselfs.

This meet started from nothing and now has turned into a very well turned out place to meet during the week, even in the winter months.

Most of the members that attend have been strangers and now are very good mates of mine and each other.

Please come next month and give it another chance, maybe come along a little later next time as when I got there last night about 19:45 it was very busy. Paul.
